Year 5 & 6.- The woman behind the rhyme: MaRi AnnInG

Two weeks ago we did not know who Mary Anning was as it happened with a lot of extraordinary women in the past.

It was by chance that we started this project and it was an incredible finding like hers!!

This is or small tribute to her.

We also worked it in year 5 in a more simple way. We watched the videos and fill in a table with the most important information.

Year 6.- The sun and the shadows

This morning we went out to the playground. One of  the year 6  children volunteered to form a shadow with the sunlight. His partners took turns to draw his shadow. He stood up on his foot prints the two times.

This is the result: the shape in white was drawn at 10 in the morning and the pink one was drawn at 12:30 in the morning.

Are the shadows created by the sun similar?  Which one is bigger? Why? Any other difference?
